How To Look Stylish On A Budget: The Budget Fashion Guide.

Hey guys, welcome back to my little blog and welcome back to The Fashionable Eve series. So today on the blog, I’m going to talk about budget fashion and how to make it work; with some tips and tricks on how to look stylish on a budget. Seeing as the holiday season is coming up pretty soon and a lot of us would want to look our very best at all the events we’ll be attending this holiday (after all it ain’t Detty December for nothing even though 2020 had to shake us up a bit).

Now, we’re gonna start this off by talking about budget fashion and what it’s all about (and believe me when I say that there is more to this than just setting a budget and buying cheaper clothes). Well, you see; budget fashion (or fashion on a budget) is simply the practice of maintaining a fashionable yet inexpensive wardrobe (a skill that’s quite needed ), and not a lotta people know how to.

For starters; there’s the fact that some people take budget fashion as an excuse to buy cheap, low quality clothes in order to save money. I’ll just go ahead and tell you that that is so very far from the truth; because when it comes down to it; budget fashion is simply you getting the best quality clothes for the money you’re spending. That’s the main rule you need to heed, once you do that it becomes easier. Now there are other rules that are involved in the process which I’ll be giving now so do well to read up.

Tips for looking stylish on a budget

Now the most important rule of all when it comes to budget fashion is the rule of quality over quantity (in other words; you need to focus on buying good quality pieces that will last rather than a bunch of low grade ones that won’t last you at all). However, there are other rules that help to make it easier for you to maintain that stylish yet inexpensive look you want and here are a few of them;

1.) Consider the budget: When it comes to budget fashion, you have to make sure that everything you’re doing is in line with your budget (in other words don’t exceed the budget limit). It’s very necessary that you consider the budget you’re working with because well; it’s the major determined of the kind of wardrobe pieces you’ll be getting. However; it’s essential that you try your best to look for the best quality within your price range (quality matters).

2.) Figure out your style: So what type of style are you going for? Are you going for the elegant glam or for the minimalist chic? There’s no particular idea of what style is as a person’s style is unique to that individual alone. So do take out the time to figure out your style and if you need some help; I have a post to help you out and if you’re really into it, you can get yourself a copy of my Fashionista Brand Guide eBook to shed a little more light on it.

3.) Stock up on timeless pieces: You can never have too much timeless essentials in your wardrobe because these pieces not only form the base of your closet (as well as most of your outfits) but they also make it much easier for you to restyle your clothes into newer outfits as they provide more flexibility for your closet; both because they are forever in style and because they can be worn with almost anything. Wanna know what these essentials are? Well I have a list of wardrobe essentials for girls that you can check out right now.

4.) Take out time to plan your outfits: Trust me, planning your outfits for the day makes a whole ass difference; the effort you put into planning will very well show in a well thought out outfit that fits you really well and flatters you nicely. Trust me, do this well and you’ll be looking good all the time.

5.) Aim to dress classy and confident: Of course it’s one thing to look good or just plain fashionable but it’s another thing to look classy and exude a healthy dose of confidence in yourself and what you’re wearing. So whenever you’re dressing up for anything; make sure to always add the right touch of class (doesn’t mean go crazy expensive, just a touch in the right place will do) and ensure that you actually feel good in what you’re wearing otherwise, no confidence is going to show.

6.) Accessorize well: Accessories, believe it or not; are a major part of our wardrobe that just can’t be ignored. If you want to nail the whole stylish on a budget thing; then you’re going to have to know your accessories; know which ones to wear and when to wear them; because apart from giving a finishing touch to an outfit; accessories also have this way of changing the way an outfit looks if they’re worn the wrong way so take note. Now I’m thinking of doing a post to talk about accessories but I’m not sure, let me know what you think.

7.) Get creative and restyle your clothes: You can’t claim to be stylish if you don’t know how to create new outfits out of old clothes; like it’s a very essential skills and it helps in not only providing diversity but also keeping the clothes around longer. What’s better about this particular tip is that you can get full on creative with your restyling and allow yourself to try so many new things. If you’re interested; I have a post on restyling clothes that might be of help to you.

And with that, we have come to the end of this cute little budget fashion guide. I’m thinking of making a little swipe file (kinda like a mini eBook) on this topic so that I can touch it better but before I do that; I’d like to know what you guys think so do lemme know in the comments; and also let me know of any topic fashion related or otherwise that you’d want me to talk about(you can tell me either in the comments or make use of the form in my contact page, I’d love to see what you think😊).

Ohh and lest I forget, yesterday was my birthday and well I’m so excited that I’m 19 (and that I lived to see the day) so now tell me, is there any special something you guys want me to do? Lemme know, for now see ya loves💖💖

Yours truly, Arreta🌺
