So, in my last post(you can check it out here); I had officially posted for the first time in this new year and now in this particular post, I think it’s time I reviewed this past year that we just left and talked about the lessons I learned and how 2020 was in general (I mean we can’t deny that 2020 was a really crazy year…for a lot of us). I mean, part of the new year goal setting process is to sit down for a while and look at how the past year was for you, good and bad, the blessings received and the lessons learned.
Now, we obviously cannot deny that 2020 was a really crazy year, one of the craziest we’ve ever seen (what with all the outrageous things that happened within those twelve months, from covid-19 to the #Blacklivesmatter and #EndSARS protests and the various things that happened in between those two separate events) and I am pretty sure that a lot of us would never want to repeat such a year if it ever came down to it because the year was pretty much accursed, and it was as though we were playing a survival of the fittest kinda game (like Hunger Games), don’t think we’d really want to repeat that though.
However, in as much as 2020 was one of the shittiest years to have ever existed, I can’t actually deny that it did have its good parts (I mean if not for the lockdown, I would have never thought of starting this blog and growing it to the level it is now). To me though, 2020 is that one year where nothing went according to plan for a lot of people, what with the pandemic and its effects on the world economy and all the other shit that happened.
Despite all that, a lot of us were still able to find the silver lining in a very dark cloud and to adapt to the hardships thrown at us by 2020 (a problem a month’s more like it if you ask me) which is no mean feat if you ask me. For a good number of us, last year was the worst year of our lives, where things turned ugly (real ugly) while for another number of us, 2020 turned out to be a year where we achieved a lot of things that we weren’t even expecting to achieve (me and this blog for example).
What I learnt from this past year is that sometimes, the greatest blessings are hidden by the bleakest of situations (I mean come on, we all can say that the corona lockdown made 2020 look quite bleak😅) and that you have to learn how to be flexible enough to adapt to whatever challenge life throws at you. It also taught me that no matter how dark it is, there is always going to be a silver lining in every cloud so don’t ever give up💖. Once again, welcome to 2021, what kind of content would you like to see on the blog this new year?? Let’s talk in the comments section😊😊.
